Zcash Price Repeats Setup Behind Its 250% Rally, Analyst Says

The Zcash price may be gearing up for its next big move. After a sharp pullback from its all-time high, ZEC is consolidating in a range that looks strikingly similar to the one that launched its last explosive rally.

ZEC has spent the past several weeks trading between roughly $1,200 and $1,400, after peaking near $1,700 in late September. The token briefly pushed back toward $1,370 this week after the NU7 network upgrade went live.

According to crypto analyst Alaoui Capital, this is not the first time Zcash has built a base like this. In a post on X, the analyst pointed out that ZEC consolidated around the $450 to $480 area over the summer before breaking out and running all the way to its record high. Now, a similar structure is forming around $1,200.

ZEC trend triangle forming rally

If history repeats, the current range could be a launchpad rather than a top for the altcoin market’s best performer of 2026.

And the previous breakout was hard to ignore.

Zcash Price Is Consolidating Just Like Before Its Last Breakout

In mid-August, ZEC was trading near $478. Within roughly six weeks, it climbed to an all-time high just under $1,700, a gain of more than 250%.

Before that run, the Zcash price moved sideways in a tight box for several weeks, shaking out short-term traders while buyers quietly absorbed supply. Once that range broke, the move was fast and steep.

The chart shared by Alaoui Capital shows ZEC now carving out a similar consolidation box below the September peak. The key difference is the starting point: this time, the base is forming near $1,200 instead of $450.

Ascending Triangle Points Toward $1,500 To $1,700

Another analyst, Ardi, sees a bullish structure developing on the lower timeframes. According to his analysis, ZEC has formed an ascending triangle from lows near $1,050, with a rising trendline of higher lows pressing price toward horizontal resistance.

That resistance sits at $1,370, a level ZEC has repeatedly struggled to clear. Ardi said a decisive break above it would end his short position and open the door to a bullish trend toward $1,500 to $1,700.

If ZEC fails at $1,370 again, he expects the downtrend to stay intact, with $1,210 and then $1,100 as the next supports to watch.

The Bigger Picture: A $2,500 Long-Term Target

The current setup also fits into a larger bullish structure that started forming earlier this year.

In early September, an FX Empire analysis published on Yahoo Finance highlighted an ascending triangle on the daily chart dating back to March 2026. ZEC broke above the $675 to $700 resistance zone in late August, confirming the pattern.

Using the height of that triangle, the analysis projected a long-term target of $2,500 for ZEC. At the time, it also pointed to the share of shielded ZEC climbing to its highest level in almost two years, a sign of growing use of the network’s privacy features.

NU7 And Ironwood Add Fundamental Fuel

The Zcash price is not moving on charts alone. The network has shipped two major upgrades in recent months.

In late July, Zcash activated Ironwood, a new formally verified shielded pool introduced after a vulnerability was found in the older Orchard pool. The upgrade also added a turnstile mechanism that makes the total ZEC supply easier to audit.

This week, NU7 went live on mainnet. It cuts the target block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, so private payments confirm roughly three times faster, and introduces a new fee mechanism designed to support network security while keeping the 21 million coin cap intact.

The ecosystem is also debating how development is funded, with a Zcash co-founder calling to end the grants funding stream. Privacy coins have also held up better than most of the market during this week’s AI-driven sell-off.

Zcash Price Levels To Watch

On the upside, $1,370 to $1,400 is the first major hurdle. Clearing it would put $1,500 to $1,700 back in play, and a close above the all-time high near $1,700 would open the path toward the $2,500 long-term target.

On the downside, $1,200 to $1,210 is the first support, followed by $1,100. The most important floor sits at $1,030 to $1,050.

That zone matters because some chartists see a potential head and shoulders forming on the daily chart, with a left shoulder near $1,300, a head near $1,700 and a right shoulder around $1,400. A daily close below $1,030 to $1,050 on rising volume would confirm that bearish pattern. Until then, it remains a developing setup, and a sustained move above $1,400 would weaken it.

Analyst Crypto Patel has also cautioned that ZEC could face a deeper 50% to 70% correction unless it closes above its $1,699 all-time high on a higher timeframe.

For now, bulls control the bigger structure as long as the $1,030 to $1,050 floor holds.

What do you think happens next?

Is Zcash about to repeat its summer breakout and push toward new highs, or does it need to retest $1,050 before the next leg up?
