Key Takeaways:

  • Binance will suspend trading for 11 crypto platforms starting August 23, 2026.
  • Among the restrictions are also HTX (Huobi) and Rapira, EXMO, Exnode and seven other providers.
  • Binance cautioned that transactions could be suspended for compliance checks, which could lead to blocking wallets during the audit.

Binance is tightening its transaction network after citing recent regulatory developments across the crypto industry. The exchange said users should no longer directly or indirectly send funds to, receive funds from, or transact through the listed platforms after their respective effective dates.

Binance Sets Three Waves of Restrictions

The measures are being implemented in phases, not at a specific time. The first limitations went into effect Aug. 7 on Shelbit General Trading LLC and Aban Tether Exchange.

A second group was hit by the restrictions on August 13th, comprising A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa and PilotFinance Ltd.

Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto INC., Tradex, Monease Ltd, BitPapa, EXnode and EXMO Ltd will be hit by the restrictions starting on August 23 with the largest group.

Binance explained that the ban is directed at the transactions with such entities, and people are advised not to pass funds on a Binance through them.

Transactions Could Face Compliance Reviews

Transactions made after the dates mentioned above may be subject to an investigation for compliance, Binance stated.

Binance could also prohibit affected wallets during the investigation. A violation of its Terms of Use, the exchange said, could also involve such transactions.

The warning is particularly important for users who regularly move crypto between centralized exchanges and third-party crypto service providers. Even if the activity was part of a legitimate transaction, a transaction with a restricted entity may cause for extra compliance checks.

Binance didn’t explicitly state that every trade that occurred on the platforms will automatically be considered illicit. Instead, the exchange discussed proposals in terms of their compliance and regulatory duties.

HTX Faces Increased Regulatory Attention

The more recent name on the list is HTX, which is one of the most prominent. It was previously known as Huobi Global, and has been under regulation for several jurisdictions in recent times.

In July, the European Union is reported to have placed sanctions on HTX-related entities against Russia. Huobi Global S.A. was also named by the UK back in this year due to the suspicion of financial support originating from Russia.

HTX has rejected the UK-based claims, saying the designation is for an entity and not an operating exchange.

Binance’s latest announcement never mentions that the list of platforms are sanctioned by Binance. On the other hand, the exchange claimed its limitations are to meet regulatory demands in the geographies it operates in.

The bottom line message to Binance users is to always verify the destination before transferring crypto, particularly on exchanges, brokers, or payment processors subject to the new restrictions.
